Over 40 years experience has fashioned the style with which the Britton family greets you and their friendly, courteous staff at the four star Sandhouse Hotel. Beautifully located on the Blue Flag Rossnowlagh Beach overlooking Donegal Bay at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean the hotel is a haven of comfort and tranquillity. The warmth from the open log fire which glows from the period fireplace in the cosy entrance lounge greets the weary traveller and the homely, stress-free atmosphere of luxury and relaxation is adorned by displays of fresh flowers and many fine pieces of antique furniture.

Individually and tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard of comfort and decor, each bedroom uses co-ordinated fabrics and furnishings in a classic country house style. There are 45 en-suite bedrooms, varying in size. Many overlook the sea and a limited number have four-poster beds.

Enjoy dinner in the award-winning Seashell Restaurant, where seafood from the local unpolluted waters is a speciality. While locally Smoked Salmon, Fresh Bay Oysters and Mussels are served throughout the day in the cosy Lounge Bar. Guests can appreciate both the majestic splendour and calm beauty of the sea from the comfort of the Atlantic Conservatory. Here, you can relax and browse through books, or enjoy afternoon tea with delicious homemade scones and fresh fruit pies.

The hotel also boasts a Spa where the remains of what cares you carry will be rubbed, scrubbed and washed away.

Rossnowlagh is the ideal base for exploring the beautiful and rugged northwest, including Glenveagh National Park, Slieve League, Donegal Castle and the famous Magee of Donegal tweed shop and factory. With nine different links courses, including Donegal, Rosses Point and Enniscrone, within a two-hour drive the hotel is a golfers paradise.
