North Ireland

Ballyliffin Glashedy Course

Length: 7217

Par: 72

Located close to Malin Head on Donegal’s Inishowen Peninsula, Ballyliffin is Ireland's most northerly links and comprises 365 acres of spectacular dune land, surrounded by rolling hills and mountains with the Atlantic Ocean as its western boundary. Glashedy Links opened for play in August 1995 and its location on the northwestern Atlantic Coast makes it a magnificent setting. Designed by Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock, it has been laid out on predominantly higher ground above and beyond the Old Links. The challenge presented by the Glashedy Links is almost as formidable as it is exhilarating.

Once the best kept secret in golf the links courses at Ballyliffin have received the highest accolades from top golfers. Nick Faldo described the course as "the most natural golf links... a hidden gem." Fred Daly described it as "a real Jewel." And Ireland's Ryder Cup players Darren Clarke and Ronan Rafferty have tested and approved it. The Old Links is a classically old fashioned links. It oozes charm, character and curiosity. More than anything, it is the extraordinary terrain that makes a game on the Old Links such a unique experience: stand on any tee and the fairway ripples and tumbles in each and every direction.

The Old Links undulates in the glory of its natural terrain, presenting an immensely enjoyable challenge to every golfer.

The new Glashedy Links is fashioned around incredible dunes, and is already notorious for its peat riveted bunkers and its opening three challenging par fours.

The expansive panoramic views of countryside, coastline and ocean savoured by these magnificent links courses will not easily be forgotten.

Royal County Down

Length: 7037

Par: 71

Founded in 1889, this Championship Course offers an exhilarating challenge to even the most experienced golfers. The legendary Tom Morris laid out this course in 1889 and it was probably the first links course with two loops of nine starting and finishing at the clubhouse. The five blind tee shots on any other course would be a flaw but here they enhance the reputation of a course, which all aficionados reckon to be in the top three in the whole of Europe. Added to this the backdrop of the Mourne Mountains means this links course is continually remarked upon for its outstanding beauty.
